The Secrets of the Egyptian Museum in San Jose and the History of the Rosacruz

The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum & Park, which is located in San Jose, California, welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year and houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the West. This well-known attraction, which is open from Wednesday through Sunday every week, also offers a learning program for youngsters in kindergarten through eighth grade with the aim of inspiring them to develop enlightened thinking. More than 4,000 artifacts can be found in the museum. Mummies, statues, and other objects are all available for viewing.

An ancient Egyptian rock-cut tomb facsimile in life size can be viewed inside the museum. Along with wall artwork and murals that show the tomb's inhabitant, the museum also has a nobleman's tomb that has been meticulously recreated. Replicas from other international collections are also present in significant numbers. Even some cats have become mummies.

Students in kindergarten through twelfth grade can learn about Egyptology through the museum's Junior Archaeologist program. Teenage guides provide tours of the fictitious tomb settings and concoct stories about the afterlife in ancient Egypt. They also hold workshops on subjects like the afterlife and play board games once a week.

Mummy and papyrus exhibits are also available in the museum. There is a tiny reading room with books on ancient Egypt in the museum as well. Vintage scientific equipment is also on display at the museum. Famous objects like the Rosetta Stone have many replicas available.

San Jose is home to the headquarters of the Rosicrucian Order, an ancient Egyptian secret society. To thousands of initiates, the Rosicrucians preach ancient wisdom. Nearly 75 years have passed since they first arrived in San Jose. An updated display in the Egyptian Museum has been financed by the Rosicrucians.

Harvey Spencer Lewis established the Rosicrucian Order in 1915. He was a New Jersey-born advertisement illustrator who was interested in the universe's mysteries. He started gathering Egyptian artifacts, and finally his collection accumulated enough to require its own museum. It was founded in 1966. A five-acre city block is covered by it. The museum is home to the biggest collection of Egyptian artifacts west of the Mississippi River, with more than 4,000 items. In San Jose, it is regarded as a landmark. Numerous monographs are published by the Rosicrucian Order. To make it easier for tourists to find, the museum has a unique zip code.

The Rosicrucian Order, a secret society dedicated to pursuing the truth, thinks that learning about ancient Egypt has spiritual significance. They think that the ancients were fully aware of the cosmos. They have adhered to this idea for three and a half millennia. The organization has produced several artifacts as evidence of its beliefs. They also include copies of King Tut's golden sarcophagus and the Rosetta Stone.

Scholars, researchers, and groups of students from other states are welcome to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. The museum is situated in San Jose's Rose Garden neighborhood. The museum is open from Wednesday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and offers free tours. Every day that the museum is open, there are also guided tours of the tombs.
